Phillip Bryson spent over 25 years as an executive in corporate America . His background includes experience in finance, law, human resources and strategy. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BS in Finance and Economics, and from Columbia University with a law degree. In 2015 God started dealing in Phillip’s heart that it was time for him to make a career change. After much discussion and prayer, the Lord opened the door for Phillip and his partner Rob Hargett to acquire Southern Comfort from its founders, the Annas family. Rob and Phillip acquired the business in October 2016 and are excited to see how God will lead and hopefully bless the business as they seek to use it as a tool to serve Him.
President / Owner
Rob Hargett started in the HVAC industry right out of college and has worked in many roles. Rob is the third generation in his family to pursue this career path. Rob became President of Southern Comfort in October of 2016 following the retirement of the former owner Steve Annas. Rob also has taught for 14 years for Central Piedmont Community College in the Air Condition Program and has over 30 years’ experience in the contracting and service side of the HVAC industry. Rob holds Mechanical Licenses in several states.
Vice President / Construction Manager
Richard L. (Rick) Williams is a Charlotte native with over forty years of experience in the HVAC industry. Rick is second generation in the HVAC business at Southern Comfort of Charlotte. After graduating from high school, Rick completed the trade apprentice program and grew his career to job foreman. Rick continued his education and excelled in the position of foreman. He then took on the roles of Project Manager and Lead Estimator. Rick holds a NC Mechanical License and serves in the position of Vice President/Manager of Construction Department.
Vice President / Service Manager
Paul Martin served in the Air Force after finishing High School. Paul joined Southern Comfort of Charlotte in 1972 and over the years has held many job titles in the company. Paul has a vast knowledge of HVAC equipment and is a great resource for our company. Paul is LEED Accredited and holds Refrigeration, Electrical and Mechanical Licenses. Paul serves as Vice President and is manager of the Service Department
Dianna Woodham has been the office manager at Southern Comfort of Charlotte for the past 10 years. Before this Dianna spent 17 years working in the banking industry and living abroad with her husband, who was in the United States Air Force. Dianna served in a similar position at an HVAC company in Augusta, Georgia, and then moved to Charlotte after her husband’s retirement from the military. Dianna serves in a key administrative role at Southern Comfort and is a great asset to our team.
Samantha has worked in customer service for nine years and has specialized in the HVAC industry for almost five. Samantha is the communication specialist of Southern Comfort. She is glad to assist our customers by phone, email, Facebook or Twitter.
Director of Sales and Marketing
Nate Brown is the Director of Sales and Marketing for Southern Comfort of Charlotte. Nate is a graduate from North Greenville University and is a great asset to our team. As Director of Sales, one of his roles will be providing customized maintenance programs and services to meet our customers’ needs.
